New Record Store in DUMBO! Legacy - Record Store/ Vinyl Boutique

Still feel like I’m floating on clouds after visiting Legacy! My love for music has always included visiting music/record stores. When I was a kid I remember always walking to local music stores and buying single CDs because they were like 2$-5$ VS 14$ for a full album. When I moved to LA after college, I would visit Amoeba Music in Hollywood. Visiting  music stores have always been therapeutic for me.

When I relocated to NYC I found excitement in visiting record stores around the city and in BK. My recent visit to Legacy a Record Store/ Vinyl Boutique located in DUMBO was pretty epic. The moment I walked in I felt a sense of familiarity even though this was my first time visiting the store. Everyone was so nice the vibe was right the music playing made sense. The record selection was so diverse and even sparked conversations between my friend and I to have some of those deep music conversations. There was also some new merch dropping during my visit so I had to get a shirt. I found even more joy when I found out they are Black Owned!! They also have really cool events in the space sometimes. They were having a game night and live music on the day of my visit, but I had to be somewhere so missed out. I’ll be back for another visit soon!

Kudos to the team and founders of Legacy they have created such a legendary space that I’m looking forward to visiting again and adding some vinyl to my record collection. If you’re a music lover like me and happen to be in the area you’re definitely going to want to stop by.
